The international version of the quad-core HTC One X will begin being sent out over the air later on this Friday. The phone shipped with Android 4.0, but the detail update still unlocks some new features and functions in the device. HTC’s Sense skin will also get some changes, including the multitasking button getting menu functionality.

Post update, the recent apps button will open context menu inside an app rather than opening the multitasking grid in Sense, as before. A long press of the key will open the multitasking menu. This change was reportedly made based on user feedback.

A new tab switching button was added to better handle management of tabs. The camera’s white balance and autofocus are also improved, with continuous autofocus now available.

A Single Sign-On feature for Facebook lets users access the social network in multiple apps and browsers. The Beats Audio customizations have been enhanced as well.

Developers should enjoy expanded SDK support for HTC’s Media Link streaming feature and improved quality in video calling apps.

There are also general stability improvements in the update.
