HP has quietly continued its 2012 PC updates by swinging its attention to notebooks. The Pavilion dv6t and dv7t have made the leap to Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors, with each starting off using a quad-core 2.3GHz Core i7. The two likewise share NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 630M to give them mid-level video.

Commonalities also bring 750GB, 5,400RPM hard drives, and a minimum 6GB of RAM with room for up to 16GB. Either system can be optioned up to a 2.7GHz Core i7, a GeForce GT 650M, and a 1TB hard drive. As in the past, other upgrades can bring a 1080p display, a Blu-ray drive, or extra battery capacity.

The dv6t and dv7t start off at respective prices of $900 and $950 after factoring in their launch period discounts. Stock systems ordered earliest should ship by May 8.
