Gwendoline Christie has boarded the cast of Robert Zemeckis’ Marwencol untitled remake.
Variety was the first to report the Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Gwendoline Christie will join Steve Carell and Diane Kruger for the Universal Pictures project.
Still without an official title, the narrative film is based on Jeff Malmberg’s 2010 documentary Marwencol. Marwencol tells the true story of Mark Hogancamp, a man who, after being nearly beaten to death, fell into a nine-day coma. When he finally awoke, his memory was gone. As a means of therapy, he built Marwencol, a 1:6 scale fantasy world with dolls crafted in the images of himself and those around him.
Gwendoline Christie will return as Captain Phasma in the highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Directed by Rian Johnson, the film hits theaters December 15.
