Coinciding with the 12.12.12 (Dec. 12, 2012) start of the Open Beta Event for the online video game HAWKEN, publisher Archaia Entertainment and free-to-play video game publisher Meteor Entertainment have teamed up with comiXology to digitally debut the second of four, free exclusive digital preview issues of HAWKEN: GENESIS, a forthcoming hardcover graphic novel based on the game.
This exclusive preview is available across comiXology’s entire digital comics platform including the iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire, and the Web. Any time someone downloads the free HAWKEN: GENESIS second preview on comiXology starting 12.12.12 and until 12 a.m. PT on Jan. 1, 2013, they will receive 2,000 HAWKEN Credits that they can use to buy items, such as upgrades and accessories in HAWKEN. Fans who downloaded the first installment last month received guaranteed access to the game’s third closed beta event. (Please note only those who download the second preview are eligible to receive the Credits.)
“Cat and Mouse,” the second exclusive comiXology digital preview, is written by Jeremy Barlow (Mass Effect, Star Wars) with concept by Khang Le and story by Dan Jevons. This is the second of four exclusive digital previews premiering only through comiXology, and ultimately leading to the hardcover’s release this March.
HAWKEN is a free to play, first-person shooter (FPS) game for PC published by Meteor Entertainment. HAWKEN puts players in the pilot seat of a futuristic war machine. Debuting in open beta 12.12.12 (December 12th), players can customize and upgrade their mechs from a wealth of accessories and styles. Players can then join on the battlefield to rain destruction across HAWKEN’s beautiful and immersive landscapes.
