Google gave developers a handful of new tools to improve the gaming experience for Android device owners.

Perhaps the most significant of the new tools is one that will allow people to trial games for up to 10 minutes directly from Google search results. (Google recently added the ability to install games from Google search results.)

Game developers will be able to show video ads in portrait orientation as well as analysis revised tools to target people who game more frequently. Google added a video recording API to the gaming SDK that makes it possible for users to record or broadcast gameplay from within the game itself directly to YouTube.

Google is adding an “indie” section to Google Play Games in order to highlight games created by small, independent developers. Google plans to simplify the process of inviting others to play games, as well.

Game developers can read more about the new game-focused tools on Google’s Android developer web site.
