Google has made it easier for consumers to pay for Play Store purchases by adding support for PayPal.

Android device owners can register their PayPal account with the Play Store and use PayPal – rather than a credit card – to make app, game, and other content purchases. PayPal is available to consumers in 12 countries, including the U.S. and Canada.

Google also expanded carrier billing and Google Play gift cards to more carriers and more countries. Last, developers in 13 new countries can sell apps in the Play Store for the first time. Google believes the expanded support for varied payment vehicles will entice developers to create more apps for the Android platform
