Nearly a year after it was canceled by Amazon after just one season, the feminist period drama Good Girls Revolt could return with a pitch for a new season shortly going out per Deadline.
TriStar Television produced the 1969 magazine journal series about gender equality sexual discrimination in the workplace, and is preparing a pitch for a new season that will go out shortly.
The project won’t necessarily be a formal second season, but rsther a series in the same setting with the same characters and the same subject matter that would be tailored to the individual network that picks up the show.
The show’s original cancellation, by now discarded Amazon boss Roy Price, was a surprise as the series launched to solid reviews and ranked as one of Amazon’s biggest series ever among female viewers. The studio doesn’t have deals with the cast but all have expressed desire to come back.
Genevieve Angelson, Anna Camp, Erin Darke, Chris Diamantopoulos, Hunter Parrish, Jim Belushi, Joy Bryant and Grace Gummer all starred in the previous season with most expected to return.
