Gillian Jacobs has joined the cast of Walt Disney Pictures’ live-action family comedy Magic Camp, according to Variety. She will join the previously-announced Adam DeVine (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Pitch Perfect 2) and two-time Emmy Winner Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent, The Hangover) in the Mark Waters-directed film.
DeVine will play a former magic camp counselor who goes back to reignite his career, but ultimately finds inspiration in a ragtag group of rookie magicians. Tambor will co-star as Roy Preston, DeVine’s former mentor and owner of the magic camp.
Gillian Jacobs (Love, Community) will play DeVine’s former partner.
Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the current draft of the script, with Suzanne Todd producing. Production on Magic Camp is expected to begin in early December in and around Los Angeles.
