2013FirstLanternWhile Rome may hold the biggest surprising revelation of day, for comic fans this runs a close second. Geoff Johns plans to step down as “Green Lantern” writer after nine years! Also Johns may not be the only creator ending his tenure in the “Green Lantern” line later this year.

According to DC Comics’ May solicitations for theĀ Green Lantern family of ongoing series, every creator associated with a Green Lantern book will end their run in May with the conclusion of “Wrath of the First Lantern,” including Peter Tomasi and Fernando Pasarin on “Green Lantern Corps,” Tony Bedard on “Green Lantern: New Guardians” and Peter Milligan on “Red Lanterns.”

DC has not given any indication of who will replace Johns on the main “Green Lantern” title, nor the manner of creative shifts that will occur following “Wrath of the First Lantern.”
