Deadline reports that DC Entertainment is bringing another series to life on television as FOX has given a pilot production commitment to Global Frequency, an adaptation of the Warren Ellis comic series. Jerry Bruckheimer is set to executive produce the series which will see “Farscape” and “Defiance” creator Rockne S. O’Bannon writing. Running for just 12 issues, each drawn by a different artist, Global Frequency is officially described as follows:

“Global Frequency is a worldwide rescue organization that offers the last shred of hope when all other options have failed. Manned by 1001 operatives, the Frequency is made up of experts in fields as diverse as bio-weapon engineering and Le Parkour Running. Each agent-equipped with a special mobile vid-phone-is speciffically chosen by Miranda Zero, enigmatic leader of the Global Frequency, based on proximity, expertise, and, in some cases, sheer desperation!”

This marks the third time that Global Frequency has been attempted for television with a pilot being produced for “The WB” back in 2005, though never ordered to series, and a failed attempt at a pilot for The CW in 2009. The series joins a growing roster of in-development DC projects including “Supergirl” at CBS and “Lucifer,” which is also set up at FOX.
