Developers Steel Wool Games and Ripstone Publishing have announced the release of their super-fly platform game, Flyhunter Origins. The platform-adventure game has landed on the PS Vita, Mac & PC via Steam. The game costs £4.99 / $6.99 on the PlayStation Store.

The game was made possible by animation-film veterans, known for The Incredibles and Monsters University. The game delivers cinematic quality cutscenes, along with an interesting character design. The story is led through such vivid gameplay, which is something you would expect to see from a team with Steel Wool’s credentials.

The story follows a bumbling alien spaceship janitor named Zak. While mopping up the floors, Zak dreams of being a wannabe Flyhunter. He appears to be happy working on board the Flyhunter Crew’s legendary spaceship, known as “The Frog,” but deep down inside, he longs for an exciting adventure of his own.

Somewhere in Earth’s orbit, the Flyhunters are traveling around in cryo sleep. Inside the ship’s cargo is an important container filled with extremely rare insects. Somehow these rare insects are mysteriously jettisoned into space, crash-landing onto Earth. While the rest are sleeping, the clumsy janitor Zak is the only one around to save the day.

Thrown into his own adventure by accident, can this alien hero swap his sweeping-brush for a super-cool fly swatter? Will Zack’s dream of becoming a daring Flyhunter suddenly turn into a nightmare? This little dude has to hurry and hunt down the missing expensive bugs before “The Investors” find out they’re missing.

Notice how Earth is depicted as a giant world of green. Notice how Zak has to jump from one ledge to another. Once you pass to the upper levels, get ready to blast off and fly with a rocket on your back.
