There are new additions to North America’s Virtual Console today. Nintendo Wii U owners can pick up two installments in iconic series, as Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Metroid: Other M appear in the eShop.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon originally appeared on the Nintendo DS. This is a remake of the very first Fire Emblem game, which only appeared on the Famicom in Japan. Prince Marth of Altea, accompanied by Princess Caeda of Talys and other allies, must travel across Archanea to defeat the Dark Dragon Medeus, resurrected by a sorcerer named Gharnef. The DS released offered a number of features not present in the original game, such as the ability to change characters’ classes, recruit units, choose a difficulty level, and save during battle. It’s $9.99 in the Nintendo Wii U eShop.

Metroid: Other M is a Team Ninja, D-Rockets, and Nintendo game that first appeared on the Nintendo Wii in 2010. It follows Samus between the events of Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion as she works with Adam Malkovich, her former Galactic Federation commanding officer, as they explore a Galactic Federation Bottle Ship. People can explore and fight from a third-person perspective, though it is possible to switch to a first-person view to explore or fire missiles. Samus can also use melee attacks against enemies, under the right circumstances. It’s $19.99 in the Nintendo Wii U eShop.
