Facebook has announced a new feature that will allow public figures to interact with fans and followers directly through live video.

Verified public figures, such as actors, musicians, politicians, and athletes, will be able to share live video feeds directly with fans. Fans will be able to comment on, like, and share videos in real-time, and all live videos will be stored so they can be watched later.

Facebook said live video feeds can be discovered directly on the pages operated by public figures. Facebook said some of the first live videos will be shared by Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Serena Williams, Luke Bryan, Ricardo Kaká, Ashley Tisdale, Lester Holt, Martha Stewart, Michael Bublé, and others. The feature is available online and via mobile devices.
