Epson is adding to its range of “small-in-one” printers with one capable of printing photographs measuring up to 11 inches by 17 inches. The Expression Photo XP-950 follows on from the XP-850, Premium XP-810 and the XP-610 in being a compact printer, with the XP-950 using Claria Photo HD six-color inks for smooth graduations and improved skin tones.

Capable of printing a 4-inch by 6-inch photo in as little as 11 seconds in draft mode, the XP-950 uses a dedicated photo tray, a rear paper feed for card stock and envelopes, and can automatically perform two-sided printing. For general use, it can print 9.5 single-sided black and white pages per minute or 9 pages per minute in color, while the double-sided versions reach 4.5 and 4.7 pages per minute for color and black respectively.

Able to scan at up to 4,800 dpi, it can also automatically correct photographs and remove red-eye errors, without the need for a computer, and can receive images over Epson Connect, allowing it to print from mobile apps and remote sources thanks to its Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity. Aside from apps, it can also be controlled using its 3.5-inch LCD with gesture navigation.

Epson has put the Expression Photo XP-950 on sale in the United States, priced at $350.
