EK Water Blocks Debuts A Passive M.2 NVMe SSD Cooler

EK Water Blocks revealed a first for the firm – the  passive NVMe SSD cooler. No water needed!

M.2 NVMe SSDs can sport crazy fast read and write speeds, but they generate significant amounts of heat while do it.  This can to thermal throttling. The take away heat not only can lessen the life of your drive, it can also slow it down.  EKWB has designed a passive aluminum heatsink for the m.2 SSD form factor to extend the life and speed of your drive.

The cooler is called the EK-M.2 NVMe Heatsink and it clips onto any single-sided type 2280 M.2 NVMe SSD drive. EKWB claims the cooler can lower temperatures by as much as 11° C.

The company offers the cooler in two colors – black powder coat, or nickel plating. Both versions sport the EKWB logo on the face. Both versions include backplates.

The cooler is available now from the EK-Webshop and through the company’s reseller network. The nickel-plated version of the cooler sells for $15; the black version goes for $13.
