Dell on Monday announced a new line of “UltraHD” monitors, each sporting a resolution nearly four times greater than Full HD (1080p). The new line includes the Dell UltraSharp 32, UltraSharp 24, and the 28 Ultra HD. Despite being the same resolution as more expensive 4K HDTV sets, Dell has priced the monitors to be affordable for professionals that need such clarity in images.

The Dell UltraSharp 32 is Dell’s flagship monitor model, with a 31.5-inch display. The monitor outputs at the full 4K specification of 3840×2160, and it has a color depth of 1.07 billion colors. It also features 99 percent of the AdobeRGB gamut and 100 percent of the sRGB gamut, and Dell says it adds in a precise factory calibration to a Delta-E

The UltraSharp 32 has HDMI, DisplayPort, and mini-DisplayPort inputs. It also packs a USB 3.0 port, as well as a 6-in-1 media card reader. The display also tilts and swivels for repositioning, and owners can reposition its height to their liking.

The UltraSharp 24 features the same UltraHD resolution seen in the UltraSharp 32, but packed into a smaller frame. The UltraSharp 24 features a 28.3-inch screen, and as with the UltraSharp 32, the UltraSharp 24 supports viewing angles of up to 178 degrees, allowing for a high-performance viewing experience.

Dell also announced the impending availability of the Dell 28 UltraHD Monitor. Dell bills this as “expected to be the industry’s most affordable UltraHD monitor.” It will offer the same 4K resolution seen in the UltraSharp models, but it will priced at “under $1,000” when it debuts. The 28-inch monitor has multiple input ports, allowing users to display content from smartphones and tablets on a larger screen, as well as to conveniently connect laptops, PCs and other accessories.

Dell notes that all Ultra HD models the company sells will come with the Dell Premium Panel Guarantee. That guarantee means that Dell will replace any monitor if a customer “notices a single bright pixel,” so long as the device is within the warranty period.

The Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD monitor is available globally starting at $3,499. The UltraSharp 24 will be available in the Americas, starting at $1,399 beginning December 16. The UltraSharp 28 Ultra HD monitor will be available in early 2014, and Dell has not specified pricing beyond saying that it will be under $1,000.
