Focus Features has premiered the first trailer and poster for Joe Wright’s Darkest Hour, which stars Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill.
Set on the eve of World War II, just days after Churchill became the U.K. Prime Minister, he faces one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.
As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, a public unprepared and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must rally a nation and attempt to change the course of world history.
Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane, Ronald Pickup, and Ben Mendelsohn also star in the film which was penned by Anthony McCarten.
Darkest Hour opens November 22nd.
