Over the years Valve has produced a few comic book tie-ins for their games. If you don’t like reading them on the web, you’ll soon be able to pick up a hard copy.

Dark Horse Comics will be publishing a 304-page, hardcover compilation of Valve’s comics. Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and Other Steam-Powered Stories costs $29.99 and will be available on November 16th.

“For fifteen years, Valve has defined the cutting edge of video games,” says Dark Horse. “Now, Valve joins with Dark Horse to bring three critically acclaimed, fan-favorite series to print, with a hardcover collection of comics from the worlds of Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, and Portal. With over three hundred pages of story, Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and Other Steam-Powered Stories is a must-read for fans looking to further explore the games they love or comics readers interested in dipping their toes into new mythos!”

“The Sacrifice,” the comic mentioned in the compilation’s title, is based on the third downloadable content for Left 4 Dead. In that DLC, one of the four Survivors dies to save the others. In addition to chronicling the events of the DLC, the comic also offers a glimpse at each Survivor’s life before the zombie apocalypse broke out.

Valve’s comic book collection isn’t the only gaming-related treat Dark Horse has planned for the fall. The first issue of Mass Effect: Invasion, a four-part miniseries, will arrive on October 19th. On November 16th, Dark Horse will release a replica of the Cerberus Normandy SR-2 ship featured in Mass Effect 2.
