dynasty-reboot-cwThe CW is developing a reboot of “Dynasty.” The project, which is in script development, hails from CBS Television Studios in association with Fake Empire and executive producers and writers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Sallie Patrick.

Esther Shapiro and Richard Shapiro, creators of the original “Dynasty,” are also serving as executive producers. Fake Empire exec Lis Rowinski will co-executive produce the series.

The new series will be told primarily through the perspectives of two female characters locked in conflict — Fallon Carrington, daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington, and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal, a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America’s most powerful class.

Produced by Aaron Spelling, the original “Dynasty” aired on ABC from 1981 to 1989, lasting 220 episodes. It starred Joan Collins, Linda Evans and John Forsythe.
