Cortana-578-80Microsoft today made Cortana more widely available to Android and iOS devices.

The app, which has been in beta testing on both platforms for several months, is now in the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store as a full release. Android and iOS device owners can use Cortana to track flights and calendar appointments, set reminders and alarms, monitor packages, and perform web searches for just about anything.

It syncs with the Windows 10 desktop version of Cortana, so people can manage their appointments no matter which device they happen to be using. The “Hey, Cortana” voice-activation feature is not available to either platform and is reserved for Windows-based machines.

Android and iOS users who download Cortana will still be able to interact with Google Now and Siri, respectively. Cortana requires Android 4.1 and iOS 8 and up and can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store for free.
