Chrome 9 Has Been Released, Now with Web Store

Posted by at 2:20 pm on February 3, 2011

Google today posted the release version of Chrome 9. The update is the first non-beta to have the Chrome Web Store built-in and lets anyone in the US reach it through a new browser tab.

The store packages apps in a way that Flash, HTML5 or other code behaves more like a conventional app download or sale with a list of installed apps to match.

Chrome Instant is also in place and provides Google Instant searching from the main address bar rather than having to visit Google’s home page. WebGL is new as well and provides hardware-accelerated 3D for games  and other sites without having to use a plugin.

The update is available for Linux, Macs and Windows PCs today.
