Cara Delevingne is headed to television. The supermodel turned actress is set to star in Amazon’s upcoming drama series Carnival Row. The Suicide Squad star is joining recently announced Orlando Bloom in the eight-episode fantasy noir from Legendary Television. The project is set to begin filming this fall for a 2019 release on the streamer.

Carnival Row will feature mythical creatures who have fled their war-torn homeland and gathered in the city as tensions are simmering between citizens and the growing immigrant population. At the center of the drama is the investigation into a string of unsolved murders, which are eating away at whatever uneasy peace still exists.

Delevingne will play Vignette Stonemoss, a faerish refugee who flees her war-torn homeland to come to the Burgue. There, she must contend not only with rampant human prejudice against her kind but with the secrets that have followed her to this new land.

First announced in May, the drama will be written and executive produced by Star Trek’s Rene Echevarria. Luke Cage’s Paul McGuigan is set to direct and executive produce, along with Pacific Rim’s Travis Beacham, who penned the original script, A Killing on Carnival Row, which appeared on The Black List in 2005. Bloom will serve as a producer on the project.
