It look like TV execs want to fill your screen with blood suckers.

Deadline reports that NBC has given a pilot production commitment to Brides of Dracula, a new series from writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (The Town That Dreaded Sundown, “Glee”) and Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Supergirl”).

Set to be written by Aguirre-Sacasa, the series is described as “a sexy reimagining of Dracula as a family drama with a trio of strong, diverse female leads, a show about empowered women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy — and their non-traditional family.”

The series would rewrite the lives of Dracula’s three brides, who are killed in the original Bram Stoker text by Professor Abraham van Helsing to a story where they did not perish at the hands of the legendary monster hunter.

Brides of Dracula will be executive produced by Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter.

Berlanti and Aquirre-Sacasa previously worked together on “Riversale,” a reimagining of classic comics “Archie” into a “Twin Peaks”-esque series. It was originally set-up at FOX but is now in development at The CW. In addition to his CW based DC shows, Berlanti is also executive producing “Supergirl” for CBS, plus “Blindpot” and “The Mysteries of Laura” for NBC.
