The series, created and executive produced by Marti Noxon, follows self-help writer Abby McCarthy (Lisa Edelstein) as she navigates being single in her 40s with the help of her girlfriends Phoebe (Beau Garett), Delia (Necar Zadegan) and Jo (Alanna Ubach). “Girlfriends’ Guide” hails from Universal Cable Productions.

Season 2 of Bravo’s first scripted series wrapped in February, with the finale ranking as the most-watched episode of the season, delivering 1.2 million total viewers.

“With our first foray into scripted, Bravo’s viewers fell in love with Abby and her close-knit group of friends experiencing the fabulous joys and deep disappointments of juggling dating, careers, family and relationships,” said Frances Berwick, President of Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “We are all excited to see what’s next for Abby and her friends.”

“With Marti and Lisa leading our stellar writers and cast, ‘GG2D’ is a show that captures an important slice of the zeitgeist. And with this remarkable three season pickup, it will be a show that audiences can discover and enjoy forever,” said Jeff Wachtel, CCO, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and President, Universal Cable Productions.

Bravo recently ordered another scripted series, “My So Called Wife,” from UCP and executive producers Adam Brooks and “Girlfriends’ Guide” star Paul Adelstein, marking its third scripted pickup following “Girlfriends’ Guide” and half-hour comedy “Odd Mom Out,” which was renewed for a second season last summer.

Other scripted projects in contention at Bravo include “True Fiction,” which has been ordered to pilot and follows a novelist-turned-professor so desperate for her next hit that she steals the manuscript of her most hated — and recently deceased — student; “All That Glitters” from Gale Anne Hurd and Judith Verno, a miniseries set in the heyday of the magazine business in the ’80s; and “White Collar Wives,” which takes place in the scandalous, high-stakes world of New York City hedge funds.
