Early box-office estimates for Marvel Studios’ Black Panther have been revised upward with Box-Office Pro now reporting that the film is targeting a $120 million domestic opening weekend – making it the largest first standalone Marvel film to date – above the $117 million of Spider-Man Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy at $94 million.

The revision comes in the wake of pre-sales tickets going on sale and smashing records, along with a surge of social media momentum which has pushed up the previous $90 million estimate first revealed at the start of the year.

Also, Marvel Studios have released a TV spot with a bunch of new footage along with a new featurette which offers behind-the-scenes interviews with stars Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o talking about the Dora Milaje, the personal bodyguards of the Wakandan royal family.

Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis co-star in the Ryan Coogler-directed film which opens February 16th 2018.
