Black Panther Is Tops At Box-Office For A Fifth Week – Tomb Raider Comes In Second

Disney and Marvel’s Black Panther won a fifth consecutive weekend at the box-office with $27 million, the first time any film has held the top spot for five weeks in a row since Avatar.

The film beat out the Tomb Raider reboot which finished its debut run in second with $23.5 million. The action-adventure score a B grade from moviegoers in CinemaScore polls, and overseas it pulled in $84.5 million with almost half that from China.

Defying expectations, the faith-based drama I Can Only Imagine came in third with a strong $17.1 million with plans to expand its run next weekend. A Wrinkle in Time slipped to fourth in its second weekend with $16.6 million – down by half.

Fifth was the gay teen comedy-drama Love, Simo which nabbed $11.5 million along with very strong critics reviews. Finally the thriller 7 Days in Entebbe came in 13th with $1.6 million.
