ARIANA GRANDE

ABC’s broadcast of Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards drew 8.9 million total viewers and a 2.9 demo rating, dropping 20 and 24 percent from last year to hit four-year lows (since 2012’s 7.4 mil/2.7).

That said, the kudoscast — which featured Britney Spears’ “greatest hits” medley, Madonna’s tribute to the late Prince and a Go-Gos reunion — easily led broadcast TV in both measures, on the final Sunday of May Sweeps.

Elsewhere in the ratings….

NBC | The recently renewed Carmichael Show (2.7 mil/0.4) and the cancelledCrowded (2.1 mil/0.4) both fell to series lows.

CBS | A double pump of Undercover Boss did 4.8 mil/0.8 and 3.9 mil/0.7, with the second hour hitting and tying series lows.

FOX | Bordertown‘s series finale (1.2 mil/0.5) and Bob’s Burgers‘ season finale (2.2 mil/1.0) were steady. The Simpsons (2.6 mil/1.0) slipped two tenths to tie its all-time demo low and fall 23 percent short of its previous finale. Family Guy (2.6 mil/1.2) dipped a tenth from last week and vs. last year’s finale.
