BenQ has rejoined the smartphone industry, by introducing a pair of quad-core devices in Taiwan. The F3 and A3 are both entry-level Android units with similar 4.5-inch 960×540-resolution IPS displays, and though they both share the same external design and similar internal specifications, the two differ in terms of processor and rear cameras.

Each device has a front-facing 2-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage with microSD expansion, Wi-Fi, GPS, and WCDMA/HSPA connectivity. The F3 opts for a MediaTek-based 1.2GHz processor, 2,100mAh of battery, and a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera, notes Engadget, while the A3 has a smaller 2,000mAh battery, a similar-speed Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and an 8-megapixel shooter.

The F3 and A3 are on sale in Taiwan today off-contract for NT$7,990 ($270) and NT$5,990 ($200) respectively. BenQ has yet to reveal if the two smartphones will be available in other regions in the future.
