Audi’s electric e-tron Sportback concept, unveiled last month at the Shanghai auto show, will come to the U.S. as a 2020 model the company has revealed. It will be preceded in late 2018 by the e-tron quattro, a similarly sized crossover with a more conventional roofline and a slightly more spacious interior. That model was previewed with a concept in 2015, but its design will be much closer to that of the Sportback concept.

The e-tron Sportback will be based on Audi’s heavily modified MLB Evo modular-longitudinal platform, which is shared with the A4, A5, Q5 and Q7. With a powertrain portfolio topped by a version with up to 500 hp, it is positioned as a high-performance, premium electric.

The styling of the concept closely reflects the upcoming production car, including the details: Where legal, the new model will be fitted with exterior cameras and organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, interior screens replacing the conventional rearview mirrors. Prices will start at around $70,000.
