Apple Updates Xcode to Version 4.2.1

Apple has put out a minor bugfix upgrade to Xcode, now bringing the company’s Mac OS integrated development environment to version 4.2.1. The update fixes a malfunctioning conversion operation, resolves an issue of “missing” developer profiles, and squashes a bug showing a locked file dialog where it shouldn’t be. The updates adds to the improvements added to Xcode 4.2, which was updated a little more than a month ago.

The company says v4.2.1 corrects an erroneous locked file dialog that would appear in the documentation window, as well as resolves an issue where no developer profiles would be visible in the Organizer. The update also now allows the “Convert to Objective-C ARC” operation to complete.

This is the first update to XCode since the major v4.2 release in October that brought SDKs for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS 5, along with Automatic Reference Counting (ARC), storyboards, iCloud compatibility, an C++11 support, and OpenGL ES debugger and other features. The update is available via the Mac App Store.
