Apple has released printer driver updates for two different manufacturers’ products, with all of the updates available for Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) and Lion (10.7), while a few also include updates for Mountain Lion (10.8). Brands include Epson, and a number of labels owned by Ricoh, including NRG, InfoPrint, Lanier, Infotec, Savin and Gestetner. The updates will appear in Software Update as relevant for users’ existing printers, and when users connect new printers to their network or computer. New models have been added alongside updates for older models with unspecified changes.
For Epson (now at version 2.15), Apple has added drivers for the E-370 series, the E-840 series and the EP-306 series. Also added were drivers for the EP-706A, EP-776A, EP-806A, EP-906F, PX-046A, PX-436A, XP-510, XP-610, XP-710, XP-810, XP-950 and EP-976A3 all-in-one units. In addition, drivers were updated for existing scanners including the Epson ES series, Expression series, Perfection series, F-3200 and GT series. The Epson Fax and Epson Fax A3, which are fax-only units, were also updated.
The NRG new drivers for printers include the MP 2001 and 2501; the MP 6002, 7502 and 9002; MP C3003, C3503, C4503, C5503, C6502 and C8002; the MP CW2200; the Pro C5100S and C5110S; and the SP 8300DN, C730DN, C830DN and C831DN. The drivers added or updated from Ricoh include the Aficio MP 6002, 7502 and 9002; Aficio SP 8300DN, C730DN, C830DN and C831DN; the Imagio MP 6002, 7502, 9002 and 9002T; the Imagio MP W4001; the IPSiO SP 8300, 8300M, C730, C730M, C731M, C830, C830M and C831; the Ricoh MP 1301 and 1601 JPN models; the MP 2001 and 2501; the entire new MP C series, and the Ricoh Pro C5100S and C5110S (US and JPN models).
Ricoh also makes the Savin brand, and saw new drivers for its MP 2501, 6002, 7502, 9002, C3003, C3503, C4503, C5503, C6003, C6502, C8002 and CW2200; Pro C5100S and C5110S, and SP 8300DN, C730DN, C830DN and C831DN printers added. InfoTech printer models added match the same model numbers as the NRG, Lanier and Infotec listings. Gestetner models added include the DSc 1030, 1045 and 1060; DSm 1020 and 1025 and the MP and SP variants as listed for NRG, Savin and Infotec above.
