In addition to officially announcing the Radeon R9 285 graphics card, on Tuesday, AMD also revealed a new Never Settle bundle: the Never Settle: Space Edition. This bundle includes Alien: Isolation, and the Mustang Omega Variant Racer from Accelerated Mass Design in Star Citizen. Customers will also have access to Star Citizen’s first two modules.

The new Radeon R9 285 graphics card will likely fall within the Gold Reward group, along with the R9 295X2, the R9 290X, R9 290, R9 280X and R9 280. This group’s Reward coupon provides three choices out of twenty-nine in AMD’s library including Alien: Isolation, Thief, Dirt 3 and many more.

AMD customers purchasing an R9 270X, R9 270, R7 260X or the R7 260 will receive a Silver reward, allowing them to choose two free titles from the Never Settle library. Those who purchase an R7 250X, R7 250 or R7 240 will get a Bronze Reward voucher for one PC game.

“Today marks a very important day for AMD graphics. We’re introducing the most compelling product in the market for high resolution gaming with the Radeon R9 285 GPU, and also continuing our dedication to AMD’s Unified Gaming Strategy, with the newest ‘Never Settle’ bundle,” said Matt Skynner, corporate vice president, Computingand Graphics Business, AMD.

AMD launched the Radeon R9 285 graphics card on Tuesday, promising fluid gameplay with the ultimate settings turned on and the resolution set at 1080p “and beyond.” The specifications show 3.29 TFLOPS Single Precision compute power, 1,792 streaming processor units, up to a 918 MHz engine clock, 2 GB of DDR5 memory, and a memory clock speed of up to 5.5 Gbps.

The new Radeon card supports Project FeeSync, which is a move to take advantage of industry standards to deliver dynamic refresh rates. (For more on FreeSync, check out our coverage here and here.) The new card also supports AMD’s Mantle API, OpenGL 4.3 and DirectX 12 as well as TrueAudio technology and Eyefinity technology.

AMD’s Radeon R9 285 card is available now for $249. Alien: Isolation won’t arrive until October 7.

AMD first announced the Radeon R9 285 earlier this month.
