ADATA launched the latest SSD to join the company’s lineup of memory and NAND flash-related products. The Premier SP600NS34 is a high performance M.2 SSD designed for both ultrabooks and desktop computers.

ADATA has adopted the smallest form factor, m.2 2242, for the Premier SP600NS34 SSDs. The entire drive measures 22 x 42 x 3.5 mm. The company claimed that despite the compact size, it didn’t sacrifice performance. ADATA claimed the JMicron controller it used can manage up to 550 MB/s sequential read speeds and 4K random read/write performance of up to 75K/77K IOPS. The listed performance numbers are the same for both the 128 GB and 256 GB variants.

Even though this drive’s physical size is small, ADATA didn’t cut features from the SP600NS34. The drive supports Intel Smart Response technology and makes use of a DDR3 DRAM cache buffer for improved read/write performance on frequently used data and applications. The company claimed it offers up to double the performance of SSDs without a DRAM cache.

SP600NS34 supports hardware BCH error correcting code up to 72bits/1KB, which should help maintain the reliability of the drive. Adata also added support for DEVSLP (device sleep) technology, which it said prolongs battery life by consuming less power when the drive is idle. The company also offers free software called SSD Toolbox that lets users configure, optimize and monitor the health of their SSD. The tool also manages secure erase and firmware updates.

Adata has not released pricing or availability at this time, but this is a product launch, so Premier SP600NS34 drives should be available in the coming weeks, if not days.
