Man of Steel hit a new landmark this week. C hits Comic book stores and newsstands this Wednesday, April 27th, weighing in at a hefty 96 pages.
The $5.99 you pay for this issues mostly goes to the 51-page lead-off story, which is a conclusion to the “Black Ring” storyline (a post-“Blackest Night” Lex Luthor yarn) and an introduction to “Reign of Doomsday.” Paul Cornell, Pete Woods, and Jesus Merino return to build that bridge.
But look at the pool of talent working on the short stories. Damon Lindel of (co-creator of Lost), Richard Donner (director of the first two Superman movies, The Goonies, and The Omen). David Goyer (co-screenwriter of Batman Begins), Geoff Johns (one of the best comic book writers ever), and Paul Dini (writer of the kick-ass Batman: The Animated Series).
Plus there is even a two-panel appearance by Krypto the Superdog.
