Acer today has added an new addition to its Iconia Tab line. The A200 carries the same 10-inch display and dual-core Tegra 2 chip as the A500 but drops the rear camera and cuts the storage to 8GB or 16GB depending on the model. In return, it gets a softer, more colorful look in gray or red, although it’s still relatively thick at 0.49 inches.

It still runs Android 3.2 as stock, but now brings in an interface layer known as the Acer Ring: the control brings a readily available set of app shortcuts, volume, and web bookmarks. Apart from this , Acer is closer to the stock interface and mostly adds apps like Aupeo’s music, Clear.fi for local media sharing, LumiRead for books, and SocialJogger for a social media aggregator.

The A200 still has a two-megapixel front camera and brings in both a full-size USB port and a microSDHC card slot.

Certain countries are already getting the A200, with pricing tending to vary but likely below that of the A500. Acer is already promising an update to Android 4.0 in January.
