Skyhook Wireless is making going to the movies easier than ever for users of Flixster’s Android app, which is utilizing Skyhook’s location engine to provide show time and theater information to moviegoers.
Skyhook teamed up with Flixster to improve location to the “Movies” Android app. Flixster’s “Movies” iPhone mobile app, also Skyhook-enabled, has been a huge success.
“After launching our Android app, we knew we could make it even better by improving the location function, and also felt that Skyhook would be the perfect addition since it has performed so well for our ‘Movies’ app,” said Joe Greenstein, co-founder and CEO of San Francisco-based Flixster, which is the world’s biggest online movie community and leading mobile provider of movie information. Flixster has more than 20 million unique monthly visitors and recently acquired Rottentomatoes.com, further expanding its worldwide reach.
