3DS Has 5,000 Free Wi-Fi Hotspots in 21 European Countries

Nintendo has inked a deal with free-hotspot.com to offer free Wi-Fi service to Nintendo 3DS owners. The arrangement will provide the hand-held game console’s users with free access to over 5,000 Wi-Fi hotspots. These are dispersed within in 21 European countries.

To access the hotspots, Nintendo owners must have the Nintendo 3DS Internet Browser installed. If not already installed, it can be done so by updating the console’s system. Once installed, the 3DS will automatically connect to an available hotspot.

Free-hotspot.com claims to have the largest network of free Wi-Fi hotspots. Each hotspot is independently owned and operated. Operators of hotspots on the network include Accor, Burger King, Choice Hotels, McDonald’s, and others.
