Director Antoine Fuqua, who has been doing press for his latest movie, Olympus Has Fallen, has revealed that the 24 movie is not going to happen, and that the project is dead.
Antoine Fuqua has been the front runner to direct the 24 movie. Here’s what the filmmaker had to say about the project.
“Yeah, that’s not happening. I don’t think it’s gonna happen at all, definitely not with me. I met with Kiefer [Sutherland], Fox wanted to do it, it was a matter of his schedule before he went off to do his new show[Touch].”
It was rumored that there were issues with the budget, and that Fox gave Kiefer Sutherland a rather low offer to star in the big-screen continuation of the hit Fox series 24. While Antoine Fuqua wouldn’t confirm those rumors, he believes a deal was never solidified between Kiefer Sutherland and the studio.
“I don’t think he was able to get a proper agreement with Fox. The time just passed, and I went off to go to what I was doing.”
